WELCOME TO TENDAJI
As Director of Educational Services for Tendaji Community Development Corporation, it is my honor to welcome you to the Tendaji Report, our electronic newsletter designed to keep you engaged and up-to-date on all the work Tendaji is doing in our community.

Our organization started with a question: What can we do to increase positive outcomes among the underserved youth and families in Central Arkansas? Tendaji CDC is the answer. We work daily to create a generation of scholarly, wholesome, well-rounded citizens of the world, regardless of one’s start of background. Through our programs, volunteers and partners, we are actively making things happen in our communities.

We have three, powerful programs that each serve a unique purpose in bettering the lives of Central Arkansas students.

1. Program I.M.P.A.C.T.
Our signature after-school program creates tailor-made plans to meet specific students’ needs and provides an exploration of various subjects to supplement school-day offerings.
“Program I.M.P.A.C.T. is beneficial for my family because I get to see my kids smile while telling me about their time in the program and how Uncle Johnny has helped them with their math. The most important thing about this program for me is that I know they are in a loving and caring atmosphere.” - Program I.M.P.A.C.T. Parent

2. Reclaiming Scholars
Reclaiming Scholars is an alternative to out-of-school suspension programs, providing students with educational instruction, counseling and mentorship to students in 6th through 12th grades.
If students successfully complete the Reclaiming Scholars Program and have no infractions at school for thirty days, they may have their suspension expunged from their academic record. Click here to learn more…
“In the time that Tendaji has worked with Little Rock Preparatory Academy, we have seen a drop in discipline referrals. Tendaji’s Reclaiming Scholars empowers and equips our students with the tools to be advocates for themselves, accountable for their actions and to build better futures.”
- Donna Broyles, Superintendent of Little Rock Preparatory Academy
3. A.R.T. Impact Summer Camp / A.R.T. Impact Virtual Summer Camp
Children in kindergarten through 8th grade attend the A.R.T. Impact Summer Camp six weeks during the summer break to reinforce academic concepts learned during the school year and to also enhance their skill level and knowledge of science and technology. Students participate in reading clubs and in-depth lessons in dance, drama, vocal and instrumental music.
“The virtual summer program is absolutely awesome, and I hate that we don't live in the area so that Elijah could attend year-round! The attention to detail and variety of activities is exactly what I, as a parent, desire to keep my child engaged and enriched during the summer months.” – Tendaji Parent
